BSides as an organisation and conference started many years ago, with BSides Las Vegas. It was created due to so many amazing talks not being selected at DEF CON and BHUSA. BSides…like the BSide of a Tape became a place where community matters most,
Dominic White mentioned I should write a short note about how BSides Cape Town got started, but the story is a bit long, so here, in rudimentary language, is how it came about.
My journey into cybersecurity began with a passion for computer science. In high school, I focused on mathematics, physics, and computer science during my Advanced Level studies, with the latter always being my highest score.
