< ABOUT BSIDES CPT - 2024 CTF >
Our CTF is well underway, with Challenge One having dropped on the 22nd of November 2024..
We have a number of varied challenges that will test your depth and breadth of hacking knowledge. Whether you are a seasoned CTF player or never done one, give it a try today.
The theme this year is “Beyond Barriers”, so why not get involved, try solve a flag or two. This CTF is open to all BSides Cape Town attendees and we encourage you all to try each challenge.
Who knows – you may go beyond your own barriers and surprise yourself. Remember, you don’t fail – you only learn! We will be releasing a new challenge every day, and all challenges are created by various companies across South Africa.
We have tried to cater for all skill levels, but also acknowledge that everyone has different skill levels.

< Rules >
- CTFs are released as tasks in this room. The release times are random, meaning you will have to watch this space and subscribe to BSides socials to be notified when the next challenge drops!
- Keep an eye on Discord and Socials.
- Anyone can participate in the CTF, however certain prizes are restricted only for BSides CPT attendees. See below for more information.
- CTF answers work on a first blood basis, where the first person to provide the answer will gain the most points. Later solves will still give points as well.
- CTF participation is at an individual level. You can work with your colleagues and friends but CTF prizes will be awarded to the individual.
- Each day leading up to BSides, a new task will be released in this room containing the daily challenge. These releases will hit randomly between 15:00 GMT+2 and 18:00 GMT+2 each day. The first challenge release will be on the 25th of November. The last challenge release will be on the 7th of December.
- While you can still enjoy the challenges for as long as you like, the competition for prizes will close on the 7th of December at 14:00 GMT+2 to allow time to select and contact the winners.
- In order to be eligible for the attendee prizes, you have to use the same email of your Quicket ticket to sign up for THM. Prizes We have over R 150 000 worth of prizes!
